Brazilian school has a vetiver program!

Hermann Guenther Elementary School
Due to the lack of knowledge of the local population on VS and its applications  in infrastructure protection, natural disaster alleviation and pollution control, Paulo Rogerio, TVNI Coordinator for Southern Brazil, has  sponsored a program at the  Hermann Guenther Elementary School in Pomerode, Sainta Caterina State, Brasil. Paulo will give talks to the students and donate Vetiver supplied from Sao Paulo to the school. The aim of this program is to introduce the VS and its various applications to the young kids so that they will have a full appreciation of the Vetiver System at an early age.

The students are interested in testing the effectiveness of VS in cleaning up the polluted water of the local Ribeirao Clara Creek.

Mrs Rosinete Pickler, the Director of the school is very supportive of this program and she  has encouraged the class teacher Miss Simoni Cristiani to work closely with Mr Rogerio on this program. Miss Simoni Cristiani is so interested in the project that she is considering of  going to the coming Colombian Vetiver Conference in October 2013
