Back in the 1990s a network was established in SouthAfrica under the National Resources Institute, part of the University of Natal located at Pietermaritzburg, Kwa Zulu Natal. The network sadly withered away for various reasons. Now Rudi Scheepers is hoping to revive it. He has established a FaceBook page dedicated to South Africa. http://www.facebook.com/vetiver.southafrica?fref=ts
For those of you who might be interested in some of the earlier Vetiver activities in South Africa you can find some SAVN news letters near the bottom of a list at http://www.vetiver.com/g/archives_newsletters.htm Incidentally there are also links on the page to the TVNI newsletters (pre Internet days) that have some very useful and interesting facts particularly in the area of erosion control and crop yield increases. They also provide an interesting timeline of the early days of TVNI. --- Dick Grimshaw
